Volunteer

Volunteers provide a special talent that help patients and families during this phase of life. Some volunteers are at the bedside with the patients, being a companion, writing letters, reading or just being a presence. Other volunteers that are beneficial to hospice patients are pet therapy volunteers, music therapy and appropriate holistic medicine.

Hospice also looks for volunteers to assist in the office. This is for people who would like to volunteer for hospice but do not necessarily have the comfort level to be at patient’s bedside. These volunteers would assist with mailings and minimal office duties. Homeland Hospice understands that volunteers are a special group of individuals who are valued. Homeland Hospice provides training to all volunteers regarding the hospice philosophy and volunteer involvement.
